I came downstairs this morning thinking I was early enough to spend a couple minutes alone before the kids got up.  Instead I came downstairs to find this... The three youngest kids cuddled in Zach's arms watching some cartoons.  It was a sweet sight and I take this over alone time anytime!

Robert came over to spend Easter with us this year. It was fun! The kids loved it.  Doug and I loved it.  We love Robert.  He is so pure in heart and good.  We love how he spends his time with us.  And Zach and Robert have a special bond. But I think all the kids' favorite uncle is Robert.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!  The kids love it when I make yummy cake.  They can't wait to eat it. But I make them wait because anticipation make the cake yummier!

Easter, Birthday's, and more

Easter was wonderful this year. Robert came over and went to church with us and it was nice having him over to be with our family.  We had chocolate filled baskets full of goodies after our traditional ham and potato Easter dinner.  Then it was basket time.  The kids disappeared for the next two hours. Jacob got so full of chocolate that he gave half of his chocolate bunny away.  Over doing it with the amount of sugar eaten at one time in an understatement.  But the kids had fun! And it was a wonderful Sabbath day.

The twins' birthday just happened to fall on Easter Sunday, so we celebrated two days earlier. Jacob and Mary didn't mind because that meant they got cake, ice-cream, and presents sooner!  I took some really cute Birthday-Pictures of them. And the party was a blast!  I can't believe they're 7 years old.  Where has the time gone?  It's going by way too fast.

Their birthday is always such a sweet time of year, but there is always a bit of sadness in me too.  Because it was the same day they were born that my mother left this earth.  Joy and Pain is how I can describe March 31st each year.  Such joy the day my babies were born.  Double fold.  And at the same time the overwhelming pain I felt as my mom unexpectedly passed away.

But, this year has been a good year so far.  And it is getting better as we are preparing for a Disneyland trip in a few weeks!

Dogs and Home School

We got a dog. Her name is Annabelle.  The kids love her.  She's half lab and half German Sheppard.  We think she's sweet and calm and just what our family needs.  We rescued her from an animal shelter.  She had no place to go, so when we met her we knew it was fate.  I hope she will fit into our family.  We have had other dogs, but none of them fit with us like we needed them to.

The kids are very hopeful that Annabelle will fit in just fine!

In the middle of February I took Mary out of school.  Jacob and Mary are home schooled full time  now and this brother-sister twin thing is as it should be. They are together full time again and all is right in their world!  If this picture doesn't say it all then I don't know what does!
